The Animated Series' Showrunner Is Aware of Fans' Second Season Predictions — With Some Good News

The much-anticipated second season of the musical adult cartoon Hazbin Hotel launches on the streaming platform soon, and audience theories has been widespread.

The first season introduces a diverse group of personalities residing in the afterlife, sets them at odds with songs about their clashes, and builds tense rivalries and angsty, affectionate connections that drive fan obsession.

The fandom's stated hopes for the new season differ greatly, but certain threads emerge over and over: Will Angel Dust break free from Valentino? Will we find out more about the mysterious "deal" affecting Alastor the Radio Demon? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?

"Obviously, I don't produce the show with audience demands specifically in mind," the creator stated earlier this year. "But I believe that me being a fan of my own show means there's a lot of it just naturally. I also am eager for these things, and I want some of these things to happen, and obviously some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

She reveals her big-picture plan is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have already been green-lit by the production companies, which produce the series.

That might mean viewers have to be patient for some of the major resolutions — but they could be shocked at how fast season 2 moves, and how much of what they're anticipating unfolds this season.

"I feel like people are going to be highly satisfied," she adds. "We get some firsts. I think we get some incredible disclosures, some fascinating origin tales, and even just simple things, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] Audiences will experience much more singing from the characters we didn't get to hear before."

The creator is well-informed of the guesses and hopes about the upcoming season — especially in the format of audience prediction charts.

"I've seen a few fans create a prediction grid about season 2," she mentions. "Naturally I won't share it, but I've actually done a few items, and nearly every one of them have almost a bingo. I thought, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we accomplish much [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I realized, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that makes me happy."

Hazbin Hotel season 2 launches on the streaming service on October 29.
